I found her by Natalie

Here we are again.
Overthinking, wondering if freedom is truly ours. Hoping this is the last time we’ll have to have this conversation with ourselves.
But at 30, almost 31, I see that the conversation never ends.

I found her again.
The sweet, caring, innocent girl, hidden behind years of hurt and misuse.

Some rooms she walked in happily, and others she was dragged in screaming. Hoping someone would save her.

I found her.
Natalie, untouched and pure and not just in a spiritual sense, but she had hopes and dreams of a life that would never be.

She mourned her losses, attended to her wounds and found strength to rise again.

Her young son’s eyes watching her every move and this time she knew the dance. although unsure of the outcome, she knew her steps were ordered. She found peace again.

I fought for you Natalie and I hope you understand why we must protect her at all costs. Life beat her down, and left her with anxieties and fears. Some known and some unspoken.

But I found her again, underneath all the rubble and mess. She still carries some stress, but she glides around the daggers instead of standing in their direct path.

She is new, yet the same, she is me.
