I love a dreamer that feels they can achieve anything if they apply the work ethic. A kid that see’s no limits in every step she takes. Born in Harlem, USA . With blends from Ecuador and Puerto Rico, at 8 years old she started dancing in the living room of her mother’s small apartment. Seeing her passion for dancing at a early age, her mother signed her up to performing dance class in East Harlem. However, just a few months in, the dance class was cancelled. The seed was planted in her head; she knew exactly what she wanted to do. She soon joined another performing class doing ballet and she thrived after that. Raised in the age of no internet, websites like YouTube for her to teach herself, she often perfected the craft at home. Maria also began learning from others cultures like African dancing. Gaining multiple dance competitions trophies along the way. Loving what she does and a passion for sharing her craft is why she is one of the most sought out dance instructors in NYC. She has taught all over the world. Even with a list of injuries and the COVID pandemic, she is teaching online. She said “For the love of it, I had to bring people joy”. Nothing can stop her passion, she is in full swing. Knowing a variety of dances and styles her favorite to teach is Bachata. Do not feel bad if you have no rhythm, she is here to teach you passed the two step you are hanging on to. Let go of that fear and dance a little life is too short.
